The Central Bureau of Narcotics says its Madhya Pradesh unit seized 595.420 kilograms of poppy straw powder from a truck intercepted near Badnawar in Dhar district. Two people were arrested, according to the agency statement released on 2 November.
Officers said intelligence about a suspected route led a joint team to keep watch before stopping the Punjab-registered vehicle. A search allegedly uncovered sixty plastic bags in a purpose-built compartment beneath the truck floor. The agency said both the material and the truck were seized.
The two occupants were arrested under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Arrest does not establish guilt, and the release does not identify a court finding against either person. Investigators are still examining where the consignment originated and the transportation and distribution network behind it. The account remains an enforcement-agency statement, not an independently observed reconstruction of the search.
