A shipment of Sinduri pomegranates from Kullu has reached the export channel to Dubai, linking Himachal Pradesh growers with an overseas buyer. APEDA announced facilitation of the 1.3-tonne consignment on 3 November, describing procurement through local farmers and the Bhuntar Farmer Producer Organisation.

The consignment comprised 650 boxes of two kilograms each and was exported by Uttar Pradesh-based Amama Exports. The district horticulture administration helped coordinate procurement. The FPO is associated with approximately six hundred farmers; that membership figure should not be confused with the number who supplied this particular shipment.

For growers, the transaction illustrates how collective procurement and an exporter can connect a regional crop with another market. It does not establish a permanent purchase commitment or a guaranteed price for future harvests. The ministry identifies potential for diversification beyond the state's established apple trade, with further opportunities dependent on product quality, buyer demand and compliance with import requirements.
