VNIT Nagpur announced a 1,547-degree programme for its September 15, 2026 convocation. The Education Ministry's September 11 release described what the institute planned to confer, so it should not be read as an independently verified count of awards actually presented.

The published breakdown was 761 B.Tech., 68 B.Arch., 595 M.Tech., 64 M.Sc. and 59 Ph.D. degrees. These figures sum to the announced total.

Grouping them by level gives 829 undergraduate degrees and 718 postgraduate or doctoral degrees, approximately 53.6% and 46.4% respectively. The calculation shows the scale of advanced study within the planned cohort, rather than reducing the event to an undergraduate engineering graduation.

Those figures describe degrees, not employment outcomes. They do not establish placements, salary levels or whether every eligible recipient attended in person.

VNIT's own convocation instructions confirm the September 15 date and auditorium venue. They also required registration and no-dues clearance and made separate seating arrangements for parents, demonstrating that academic eligibility and attendance logistics were different parts of the process.

October 12 revision: the article now reports the documented plan and its composition. A final conferment record would be needed to replace the announced figures with an actual ceremony total.
