SEMICON India 2026 was scheduled for September 17-19 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi. The official September 15 programme identified September 17 as the inauguration date, placing the event on Thursday rather than Wednesday.

By September 17, the Electronics and IT Ministry described more than 600 participating companies, with representation from 52 countries. It listed six country pavilions covering Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore and Sweden, alongside twelve state booths.

The exhibition also included a startup pavilion, innovation showcase, student hackathon and workforce-development pavilion. Those sections brought business formation, technical demonstration and skills into the same programme, broadening its focus beyond fabrication plants alone.

The ministry's accompanying Semicon 2.0 briefing covered design, equipment, advanced packaging, research and talent. Viewed together, the programme and policy agenda treated chipmaking as a chain of interdependent capabilities: fabrication needs both upstream design and downstream packaging, as well as equipment and trained people.
