Manipur University opened a free multidisciplinary health camp to its campus community and nearby residents on 16 October, with around 300 people participating during the three-hour programme. The initiative brought consultations, screening and health-awareness services together at the university’s Health Centre under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026.
Services included general medicine, gynaecology, orthopaedics, dental consultations, eye care, palliative care and counselling. Organisers also emphasised awareness of breast and cervical cancer screening. Aadarsh Hospital and Research Institute offered a free Pap smear laboratory investigation valid for one month, extending one element of the programme beyond the camp itself.
The NSS Cell and Health Centre at Manipur University organised the event with the State NSS Cell and My Bharat Manipur, under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Medical teams came from Aadarsh Hospital, Karkinos Healthcare, Iland Hospital and Medilane, giving participants access to several specialties at one location.
The programme’s practical value was access and early referral rather than population-level evidence about disease prevalence. University officials and clinicians encouraged regular check-ups and timely medical advice, but the official release reports attendance and services, not diagnoses or clinical outcomes.
