A one-tonne consignment of Sundarja mangoes from Rewa was sent to the United Arab Emirates through Varanasi airport on June 26, 2026, according to APEDA's June 27 account. The fruit passed through a packhouse in Bhadohi.

The route connects a producing district with export-handling facilities outside it. For this consignment, access to packing and air transport was part of bringing a region-specific fruit to an overseas buyer, not merely a change in the destination printed on an invoice.

APEDA's 2022-23 annual report already lists Rewa Sunderja among geographical-indication products. The UAE consignment brings that established regional identity into a particular export route.

The release reported procurement at Rs 150 per kilogram against a local comparison of Rs 100-110. That is a gross price premium of Rs 40-50 per kilogram for the described transaction, not proof of an equivalent increase in net farm income.

Packing, freight and other transaction costs determine how an export price translates through the supply chain. The shipment demonstrates a specific route and purchase, while repeat orders and realised costs would show whether that route can support a durable market.
