ISRO launched the LVM3-M6 BlueBird Block-2 mission on December 24, 2025. Its launch register and mission page confirm the event, correcting the impression created when this report appeared in NewsLive24's September 2026 archive without an explicit launch date.

The spacecraft was AST SpaceMobile's communications satellite, launched on a dedicated commercial mission. ISRO's mission page records successful placement in the intended orbit and describes the payload as part of a system designed to connect standard mobile smartphones through satellites.

Three different claims must remain separate: a launcher can complete its flight, a spacecraft can reach its orbit, and a communications service can subsequently become available. The checked ISRO record establishes the first two; it is not a coverage map or a certification that a customer in every location can use the proposed service.

The mission was LVM3's sixth operational flight. Its design description identifies solid strap-on motors, a liquid core stage and a cryogenic upper stage, giving the technical context for the launch without treating a commercial communications payload as an Indian-owned satellite.

October 12, 2026 correction: the historical launch date has been restored. The September publication date is not evidence of a second launch, and this revision makes no claim about the operator's current service availability.
