Three vessels from the Indian Navy's First Training Squadron have left Port Victoria after completing a Seychelles port call during an ongoing training deployment. The Defence Ministry identified the vessels as INS Tir, INS Sujata and Indian Coast Guard Ship Sarathi, which departed on 15 October.

The visit combined professional exchanges with practical instruction for Seychelles Defence Force personnel. Activities included cross-training visits as well as firefighting and small-arms training, giving the participating services a structured setting to compare procedures and build familiarity beyond ceremonial engagement.

At sea, the Indian squadron conducted a passage exercise with Seychelles Coast Guard Ship Andromache. The programme covered joint patrolling, communications drills and coordinated manoeuvres. Senior officers from the visiting ships also met Major General Michael Rosette, Chief of Defence Forces of the Seychelles Defence Force, to discuss bilateral cooperation.

The deployment also included a medical camp and distribution of essential supplies by the Indian Navy Band. The ministry placed the engagement within India's MAHASAGAR vision, which expands to Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions. The documented activities support training and maritime coordination; they do not establish a new treaty or operational command arrangement.
