India won both Junior Asia Cup finals in Moqi on September 13, 2026, but the two victories followed different paths. The men beat Korea 4-1; the women protected a one-goal advantage to defeat hosts China 1-0.
Hockey India's men's report identifies the success as India's sixth title, following wins in 2004, 2008, 2015, 2023 and 2024. That corrects the original Akashvani report's claim of four titles, which left out the first two championships.
The men's final reached 4-0 when Ashu Maurya scored in the 50th minute. Korea's Lee Minhyeok converted a penalty stroke four minutes later. Those late events show that India's lead was established before Korea's response, rather than built through a close exchange at the finish.
The women's contest was narrower. Sanika Chandrakant Mane's 17th-minute goal remained decisive, while China's attempt from the match's only penalty corner was disallowed for exceeding the permitted backboard height. India's title was its third in succession.
The combined result therefore reflects both attacking separation in one final and preservation of a small lead in the other. Hockey India also confirmed qualification for the respective junior World Cups. Qualification is the next competitive opportunity, not a prediction of success at that level.
