ICMR-MINDS received a gold National Award for e-Governance at the July 1-2 Jaipur conference, according to ICMR's July 5 announcement.
The project studies integration of mental-health and substance-use screening and management with other non-communicable-disease services. Its described decision-support system assists trained non-specialist staff and includes referral and back-referral pathways.
That two-way structure is central to the model. Referral allows a case to move towards specialist input; back-referral is intended to support follow-up nearer the patient when appropriate. This is a coordination design, not a claim that software replaces clinical judgement or that all patients can be managed without specialists.
The award recognised the initiative in an e-governance category. Clinical recovery and service follow-up are separate measures from that administrative recognition.
