Haryana's Technical Education Department signed a memorandum with IIT Ropar, according to a September 12 Akashvani report quoting a government spokesperson. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was present.
IIT Ropar was to guide laboratory modernisation and development of a Centre of Excellence. These provisions concern the facilities available for practical learning, rather than classroom content alone.
The agreement also covers curriculum revision and outcome-based education. Updating equipment and updating what students are expected to learn are complementary tasks: modern apparatus does not automatically produce a relevant course.
Faculty development, certificate courses, workshops and exposure visits form another strand. They concern the people using those facilities and teaching the revised material, connecting institutional infrastructure with day-to-day instruction.
