Rescue and relief work underway after a helicopter carrying devotees to Gangotri Dham crashed at Gangani, in Uttarkashi district on May 8, 2025.
Six people, including five women and the 60-year-old pilot, died, and one person sustained grievous injuries after a private helicopter, heading towards Gangotri temple, crashed near River Bhagirathi in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district on Thursday (May 8, 2025) morning.
According to the State Disaster Response Force, the helicopter which crashed was owned by AeroTrans Services Private Limited whose registration number is VT-OXF.
This helicopter was going to Gangotri temple after Yamunotri temple ‘darshan’ where it had to land at Harshil helipad.
The pilot of the helicopter was Captain Robin Singh.
