A Dhaka court sent three accused to jail on September 22, 2026, in the case concerning a September 11 procession in Gulshan by people associated with the Awami League and its affiliated organisations. Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha identified the three as Khalil, Shariful Islam and Farid Ahammed Kanchon. The party's activities were banned at the time.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Muhammad Zunaid issued the order after police produced the three and requested their detention while the investigation continued. The case documents, as reported by BSS, alleged a procession on Road 3 in Gulshan-1 at about 11:50 am and the explosion of crude bombs. Police registered the case under the Anti-Terrorism Act. Those are allegations in the case, not findings of guilt.

The September 22 hearing came after another custody decision reported on September 20. Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana sent 24 accused to jail when police brought them before the court following remand, according to BSS. That report named Abdur Rahim, Jahangir Hossain, Sabbir Hossain and Kamrul Hasan among those presented, alongside other accused in the same procession case.

The earlier court report also identified Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque as having ordered a ten-day remand on September 12. At the subsequent hearing, police again asked for detention pending completion of the investigation. Thus the reported September 20 decision concerned accused already brought through a remand stage, while the September 22 report separately identified the three people covered by the later order.

An additional police update had preceded both hearings: on September 19, BSS reported a Dhaka Metropolitan Police message announcing 179 arrests connected with the Gulshan procession. That figure describes the police's broader arrest announcement, whereas the later reports identify particular court appearances. The reports do not establish mutually exclusive groups, so their numbers cannot be added into a new arrest total.
