The government outlined DISHA 2.0 in a July 25 parliamentary reply, reporting an approved Rs 255 crore outlay for 2026-31. Its components include Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu, legal-literacy work and the proposed VIDHI-Sanjeevani monitoring system.
These components perform different tasks. Tele-Law is described as a channel for advice before litigation; Nyaya Bandhu concerns voluntary legal assistance; literacy activities concern public understanding. The dashboard is intended to bring programme information together for monitoring.
That separation matters when reading a technology-led access-to-justice announcement. A record of service delivery is not itself legal assistance, and an information interface does not determine a person's entitlement or decide a case.
The reply also proposed integrating an AI-based service-support tool alongside these service and monitoring channels.
