The Central Bureau of Narcotics reported seizing 6,679,980 tablets during an August 27-28 operation on the Chandigarh-Baddi route. Its August 29 statement said one person was arrested and a truck seized.

The agency alleged that the shipment lacked supporting transport and commercial documents. It also reported erased batch numbers and manufacturing or expiry information on some packaging. These are allegations from the investigating agency, not findings after trial.

The two issues concern different links in traceability. Shipment records connect a consignment with its movement and commercial parties; batch and date markings connect individual packs with production information. Removing either makes reconstruction harder, but the release alone does not establish who removed markings or which supplier was responsible.

CBN said follow-up inquiries would examine the supply and distribution chain.
