The Central Bureau of Narcotics reported three arrests in Operation Black Hawk near Lucknow in August 2026. The Finance Ministry's August 24 release said officers intercepted a car on August 21 and a truck separately near Barabanki. CBN alleged heroin trafficking; the arrests do not establish guilt.
The release states a total of 18.64 kg. Its narrative gives 16.46 kg from the car and 2.16 kg from the truck: together, 18.62 kg. Its summary instead lists 16.48 kg from the car, which brings the same truck figure to 18.64 kg.
The discrepancy is 0.02 kg, or 20 grams, and lies in the two descriptions of the car recovery. The CBN press note contains both versions too.
DD India's August 24 report repeats the narrative weights alongside the 18.64 kg total. That repetition does not reconcile them. These accounts leave the difference unresolved; neither calculation independently establishes the actual seized weight.
