The All India Institute of Ayurveda renewed its research agreement with IIT Delhi for five years at the close of Saushrutam on July 17, 2026. The New Delhi seminar ran from July 15 to 17, following a July 14 workshop.

The partnership has a documented history beyond the ceremony. In January 2021, IIT Delhi announced seven joint projects, including development of a biodegradable herbal wound dressing and a fumigation device intended for wound-healing research.

Those examples show two distinct engineering questions: what a material should be made of, and how a device should deliver a controlled process. Neither question is resolved merely by identifying a traditional formulation; design and testing are part of translating an idea into a reproducible intervention.

IIT Delhi's 2021 announcement explicitly placed validation at the centre of the collaboration and described the projects as two-year research efforts. It did not report completed clinical results.

The renewed partnership brings those engineering and validation questions back into focus. A reproducible material or device is one research objective; demonstrating patient benefit is another, requiring clinical evidence.
