The All India Institute of Ayurveda announced its AyurVarta digital discussion series on September 1, 2026. Its opening conversation examined why Ayurveda Day is observed on September 23, with director P. K. Prajapati and dean Mahesh Vyas discussing the choice.

The date was not first introduced by the series. An Ayush Ministry announcement published in May 2025 recorded the move from Dhanteras, whose calendar date varies, to a fixed annual observance. A later August 2025 release confirmed that the fixed-date system would begin that year.

That history changes the focus of the launch: AyurVarta was explaining an existing decision ahead of the 2026 observance. The practical rationale was a predictable calendar for institutions organising programmes in different countries.

AIIA said future discussions would address education, clinical practice and research, and would be distributed through its official digital channels. Announcing those topics establishes the series' intended scope, not the quality or results of research that might later be discussed.

The opening episode is consequently best understood as institutional outreach about the observance. Neither the calendar decision nor the launch announcement supplies clinical evidence for a treatment, and this report makes no therapeutic claim.
